The project began with in-depth research into printing techniques, bookbinding, and various types of paper. For this book, I used my own photography and original text to capture the raw beauty of abandoned structures. My goal was to create a tactile experience that complemented the mood of the photographs, enhancing the connection between the viewer and the images. Most of the spreads were designed by hand and then digitally refined in Adobe Photoshop. I also took on the task of printing, binding, and assembling the book and cover. For each location I explored, I included a brief reflection on my experiences and the thought process behind capturing the essence of each structure. Through this project, I aimed to document the state of these forgotten places, as I believe every structure has its own unique story to tell. The book is designed for a broad audience, appealing to people of all ages who appreciate photography, design, and storytelling.
